Senior Software Engineer – Grafana Search & Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Shape the product roadmap and define personal career goals.

• Collaborate with the team to roll out new features and enhance them through iterative improvements.

• Lead projects from conception to customer operations.

• Contribute to open-source initiatives beyond the team's direct focus.

• Design, construct, operate, and sustain essential systems.

• Take ownership of system reliability, performance, and availability.

• Engage in on-call rotations and manage services that are in operation.

• Mentor and assist fellow team members.

• Participate in design discussions and work closely with the team.

• Acquire knowledge of the Grafana Cloud product, its customers, and a substantial distributed-system codebase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must reside in Canada or the United States.

• Strong experience with Go, Rust, Python, or related programming languages.

• Proven expertise in working with large distributed systems.

• Experience in delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation to customer delivery.

• Background in developing cloud-based software or systems engineering.

• Proficient in writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable code.

• Independent mindset coupled with excellent communication skills.

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach.

• Customer-centric perspective.

• Capability to analyze, design, and develop modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.

• Experience with Grafana and Prometheus is advantageous.

• Familiarity with on-call responsibilities, operations/SRE tasks, or infrastructure as code is a plus.
