Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive solutions across backend services, APIs, data models, web interfaces, and Android point-of-sale and handheld applications.

• Quickly adapt to unfamiliar platforms and codebases, including Android/Kotlin.

• Grasp operator requirements and offer valuable product insights.

• Work collaboratively with a small, cross-functional team to deliver products to customers swiftly.

• Navigate various codebases within the Toast platform and produce high-quality code on schedule.

• Take ownership of testing, instrumentation, on-call duties, and code cleanup.

• Leverage AI tools to enhance development processes and speed, while innovating new methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven history of delivering impactful products to actual users with both technical and business significance.

• Fullstack experience managing features from backend services and APIs to the client side.

• Solid understanding of backend principles in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous communication, event-driven architectures, API design, and integration methodologies.

• Experience in modern web front-end development using React or comparable technologies.

• Demonstrated ability to learn new languages, frameworks, or platforms on the job and deliver production-level code.

• Skill in producing clean, maintainable, and resilient code.

• Experience with 0→1 builds and adaptability to shifting priorities and incomplete requirements.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• Capability to draft technical designs and collaborate effectively with product and design teams.

• History of utilizing AI tools to expedite work and articulate their application.

• Experience in Android development, especially in production Kotlin or Java, is preferred.

• Background in early-stage products, internal incubation, or rapid experimentation is advantageous.

• Familiarity with point-of-sale, payments, hardware-related systems, or offline-first solutions is a plus.
