Senior Software Engineer, Full-stack Node, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of medium to large-scale features across the technology stack, documenting decisions made and anticipating edge cases along with long-term maintainability.

• Develop and manage TypeScript/Node.js microservices, event handlers, cron jobs, and React user interfaces that drive core financial operations.

• Utilize AI coding assistants and agentic tools for tasks such as scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, and code review.

• Decompose complex issues involving multiple services and user interfaces; oversee the delivery process from design through to deployment.

• Produce well-tested, maintainable code while performing comprehensive code reviews, including those for AI-generated code.

• Guide junior and mid-level engineers in technical practices and the responsible use of AI tools.

• Collaborate with engineers in different product teams and contribute to shared services.

• Take part in the on-call rotation, lead incident responses, and conduct reviews following incidents.

• Recognize and tackle technical debt while balancing immediate delivery with the long-term health of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, showcasing a full-stack skill set (backend services and frontend user interfaces).

• Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js for developing production services.

• Proficiency in React for creating production-oriented UIs, covering state management, component design, and performance optimization.

• Experience in designing and implementing REST or GraphQL APIs.

• Strong understanding of relational databases, including PostgreSQL or similar systems, along with modeling, query optimization, and migrations.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging patterns such as Kafka or SQS.

• Experience in a microservices-based environment.

• Practical, daily experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Zed’s Agentic editing, or similar.

• Comfort with prompt/context engineering and validating outputs generated by AI.

• A solid understanding of software design principles, separation of concerns, error handling, and testing methodologies.

• Experience in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Comfort operating within a cloud environment, preferably AWS, with knowledge of deployments, logging, and basic infrastructure concepts.

• Excellent communication skills; proactive in sharing updates, obstacles, and technical risks.
