This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as an experienced individual contributor within a cross-functional team.
• Provide reliable and maintainable software that supports significant government services.
• Take charge of contributions throughout the software development lifecycle with minimal supervision.
• Influence technical strategies and enhance engineering practices.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance full-stack applications and services.
• Facilitate integrations among related technical systems and dependencies.
• Identify and resolve complex technical problems and promote system improvements based on incidents and lessons learned.
• Assess technical and process methodologies while supporting pragmatic engineering choices.
• Engage in discussions regarding technical design and architecture.
• Present design documents, system diagrams, and technical recommendations to engineers, clients, stakeholders, and partners.
• Convey technical concepts, risks, trade-offs, and developments to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor and assist junior and mid-level engineers.
• Lead smaller projects, technical initiatives, or temporary team structures as required.
• Enhance software engineering processes, development practices, system reliability, and team efficiency.
• Participate in technical interviews and assess potential engineering candidates.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools while preserving code quality, security, maintainability, and architectural alignment.
• Keep abreast of trends in software engineering and AI-assisted development practices.
• Bachelor’s degree and over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience in developing and maintaining production software across both frontend and backend technologies.
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one technical domain, such as frontend, backend, application architecture, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
• Experience in designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining modern web applications and services.
• Familiarity with APIs, databases, distributed systems, and integrations between applications or services.
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive them to resolution.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical direction to fellow engineers.
• Capability to evaluate technical trade-offs and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions.
