Senior Software Engineer – Front End/Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as a skilled individual contributor within a software engineering team.

• Assist in managing scope, schedule, and delivery objectives with minimal oversight from leadership.

• Play a role in achieving long-term program objectives and executing the development strategy.

• Function as the primary lead for the discipline when collaborating with stakeholders.

• Propel enhancements in software engineering processes and practices.

• Retain ownership of an application codebase.

• Identify and resolve system issues, leveraging incidents to drive system improvements.

• Guide and support junior engineers.

• Effectively communicate technical challenges and developments with team members and clients.

• Engage in technical interview processes.

• Lead smaller, less critical, temporary teams and projects.

• Present design documents and system diagrams to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with over 7 years of engineering experience.

• Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.

• Mastery in at least one technical domain, such as frontend, backend, or infrastructure engineering.

• Proven ability to showcase expertise, accountability, and ownership over contributions to an application codebase.

• Capability to maintain an overarching understanding of related technical areas and ecosystems.

• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving system issues.

• Skillful in communicating technical matters and developments with team members and clients.

• Strong influential abilities to propose and assess various technical and process strategies.
