Senior Software Engineer – Front End/Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a skilled individual contributor within a collaborative team environment

• Assist in meeting scope, schedule, and delivery objectives with limited oversight from leadership

• Play a role in shaping the program’s development strategy and long-term vision

• Exhibit technical proficiency, accountability, and ownership of contributions to the application codebase

• Manage integrations and dependencies across related technical domains, systems, and ecosystems

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance high-quality software for front-end and/or back-end systems

• Analyze and resolve intricate technical challenges and identify improvements for systems and processes based on incidents and lessons learned

• Guide and support junior and mid-level engineers

• Articulate technical concepts, issues, risks, and developments to team members, clients, and stakeholders

• Engage in technical interviews and assess engineering candidates

• Suggest, evaluate, and recommend solutions to technical and process-related challenges

• Lead small-scale projects, technical initiatives, or temporary team configurations

• Create and present design documents, system diagrams, technical recommendations, and other engineering artifacts

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree along with 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering

• Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of formal education where applicable

• Expert-level knowledge in at least one technical area, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering

• Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-level software applications

• Proficient in troubleshooting complex technical problems and contributing to scalable, maintainable software solutions

• Capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Experienced in providing technical guidance, mentorship, or peer support to fellow engineers

• Must fulfill relevant contractual or labor category requirements regarding education and professional experience

• Familiarity with both front-end and back-end technologies in a full-stack development context

• Proven track record in designing, building, and maintaining modern web applications and APIs

• Experience with contemporary JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue

• Proficient in back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar languages and frameworks

• Knowledgeable in relational and/or NoSQL databases

• Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Experienced with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development methodologies

• Background in Agile or iterative development environments

• Experience in mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance within a development team

• Proven ability to collaborate directly with clients, product teams, designers, and other technical stakeholders

• Experience supporting government or federal programs

• Understanding of accessibility, security, performance, and scalable application design principles
