Senior Software Engineer – Front End/Back End

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a seasoned individual contributor within a software engineering team.

• Assist in managing scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal oversight from leadership.

• Contribute to the long-term objectives and implementation of the program’s development strategy.

• Serve as the primary contact for the discipline when collaborating with stakeholders.

• Take ownership of contributions to the application codebase with technical proficiency, accountability, and responsibility.

• Coordinate integrations and dependencies among adjacent technical areas, systems, and ecosystems.

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance software across both front-end and/or back-end systems.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues and identify potential improvements in systems and processes.

• Mentor and assist junior and mid-level engineers.

• Effectively communicate technical concepts, issues, risks, and updates to team members, clients, and stakeholders.

• Participate in technical interviews and assess engineering candidates.

• Propose, evaluate, and suggest solutions to technical and process challenges.

• Lead small projects, technical initiatives, or temporary team structures.

• Create and present design documents, system diagrams, technical recommendations, and engineering artifacts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and over 7 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of educational qualifications where applicable.

• Expert-level knowledge in at least one technical discipline, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, or infrastructure engineering.

• Experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production software applications.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to scalable, maintainable software solutions.

• Strong ability to convey technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in providing technical guidance, mentorship, or peer support to fellow engineers.

• Must meet relevant contractual or labor category requirements concerning education and professional experience.

• Preferred: experience in both front-end and back-end technologies within a full-stack environment.

• Preferred: experience with modern web applications and APIs.

• Preferred: proficiency in JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.

• Preferred: familiarity with back-end technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or similar.

• Preferred: experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Preferred: knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contemporary software development practices.

• Preferred: experience in Agile or iterative development environments.

• Preferred: experience mentoring engineers or providing technical guidance.

• Preferred: collaboration with clients, product teams, designers, and technical stakeholders.

• Preferred: experience with government or federal programs.

• Preferred: knowledge of accessibility, security, performance, and scalable application design practices.
