This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Keeper Commander, including its SDKs, CLI tools, and developer automation features.
• Take ownership of the technical direction and implementation for Keeper’s Python and .NET SDKs, Commander CLI, and associated developer automation functionalities.
• Stay actively engaged in architecture, coding, debugging, and design while mentoring a small team of engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Security, and engineering teams to ensure that Commander is secure, dependable, extensible, and simple to integrate.
• Define and propel the technical architecture and long-term strategy.
• Design, create, and maintain secure, scalable SDKs and developer tools for both Python and .NET.
• Spearhead the development of CLI features, APIs, and integrations for enterprise administrators, developers, and DevOps teams.
• Architect integrations with CI/CD platforms, cloud services, infrastructure automation tools, and enterprise systems.
• Set technical standards for SDK design, versioning, compatibility, error handling, testing, and documentation.
• Write production-level code and troubleshoot complex features and issues.
• Lead architecture reviews, design conversations, and technical decision-making processes.
• Work in partnership with Product to translate customer requirements and platform priorities into scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Security and QA to enhance secure coding, testing, reliability, and release quality.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to performance, concurrency, authentication, integrations, and distributed workflows.
• Enhance the developer experience across APIs, documentation, examples, tools, and onboarding processes.
• Support and nurture the open-source ecosystem through pull request reviews, issue management, community engagement, and documentation.
• Mentor engineers and elevate engineering standards through code reviews and design critiques.
• Plan and sequence technical initiatives, balancing delivery with maintainability and technical debt.
• Assess technologies and patterns that enhance SDK performance, security, extensibility, and developer productivity.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools like Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms for coding, debugging, research, testing, and documentation.
• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on development in Python and .NET.
• Extensive experience in building SDKs, APIs, CLIs, developer tools, automation frameworks, or platform integrations.
• Proven capability to design and evolve software architectures utilized by external developers or enterprise clients.
• Strong understanding of API design, backward compatibility, versioning, and developer experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with their associated APIs and security services.
• Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure automation tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps.
• Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, secrets management, encryption, and secure software development practices.
• Experience in designing and troubleshooting distributed or integration-heavy systems.
• Strong debugging abilities across application, API, network, and integration layers.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and release engineering practices.
• Experience in contributing to, maintaining, or supporting open-source software.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without relying solely on formal authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Ability and enthusiasm to effectively utilize AI-assisted tools for software development, debugging, research, and documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Due to the nature of this role in GovCloud environments, qualified candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Preferred: Experience in leading a small engineering team or acting as a technical lead.
• Preferred: Experience with secrets management, privileged access management, identity security, or cybersecurity platforms.
• Preferred: Experience with Go, PowerShell, or other automation-focused languages.
• Preferred: Experience in developing cross-platform software for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, GCP Secret Manager, or similar cloud security services.
• Preferred: Experience with package distribution, dependency management, and SDK release workflows.
• Preferred: Contributions to widely used SDKs, CLI tools, developer platforms, or DevOps automation projects.
• Preferred: Experience in designing public APIs or developer-facing integration platforms.
