Senior Software Engineer – Delivery Tech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain solutions and services for Delivery Technology, encompassing Driver Pay and Pricing, Dispatch and Optimization, ETA and Routing, as well as the Driver App.

• Influence optimal technology decisions through collaboration with product teams, engineering, and stakeholders across the organization.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to plan the technical progression of projects to foster future business expansion.

• Efficiently deliver services while making judicious design trade-offs.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers on the team.

• Write code adhering to industry best practices.

• Advocate for and nurture Gopuff Engineering’s culture of inclusion and diversity.

• Engage in cross-functional initiatives within an agile framework.

• Construct, deploy, and maintain code.

• Uphold idiomatic syntax, design patterns, and test-driven development principles.

• Implement and track analytics to ensure the accuracy of business processes.

• Support production services to ensure reliability and accuracy.

• Join team on-call rotations as required.

• Participate in code reviews and offer feedback on system design.

• Elevate engineering standards both within the team and across the broader organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience.

• Strong proficiency with modern web, frontend, backend, and/or cloud applications.

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented programming concepts.

• Proven experience in building highly scalable, high-throughput systems.

• Familiarity with creating APIs and extensible systems.

• Experience with Go, Java, Python, Flutter, Node.js in a production environment and a willingness to learn additional languages.

• Background in developing microservices within a distributed architecture.

• Knowledge of message-based/event-driven architecture and asynchronous transactional patterns.

• Experience with public cloud services in a production setting (Azure/GCP).

• Knowledge in operations, monitoring, and deployment methodologies for distributed systems.
