Senior Software Engineer, Data Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain data analytics infrastructures including AWS Athena/S3, Elasticsearch, and Google Analytics.

• Implement and optimize ETL data pipelines for new data sources.

• Assist in data management tasks such as retention, curation, catalog management, and schema development or extensions.

• Automate data management processes wherever feasible.

• Create data visualizations and reports for internal application development teams and program leadership utilizing Kibana, AWS QuickSight, and Google Analytics 4.

• Contribute to the advancement and maintenance of data analytics services for EED enterprise systems and associated infrastructure.

• Aid in the collection, curation, visualization, and automated reporting of information and insights across cloud-hosted services and user engagement platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 6 years of experience in an engineering role focusing on data analytics.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing applications using Python and/or NodeJS.

• Strong expertise in contemporary architectures for data storage, transformation, and governance, such as data lakehouse or data mesh.

• Proficiency with data storage technologies including Apache Parquet, Apache Iceberg, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases.

• Experience in developing cloud-hosted applications using cloud-native/serverless services like Lambda, Elastic Container Service, Fargate, SQS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Kinesis, Glue, and Athena.

• Background in architecting cloud-native solutions following best practices like the AWS Well Architected Framework.

• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices including Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.

• Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively, particularly regarding system architecture and design.

• Availability to work from 8am–5pm Eastern Time, regardless of home location.
