Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support in data management and reporting to the Data Analyst Team Lead.

• Assist in pinpointing unprofitable risk segments and exploring opportunities to mitigate premium leakage across all business lines.

• Conduct data analysis and generate reports to facilitate data-driven business decisions.

• Aid in the monitoring of underwriting production and achievement of goals.

• Produce on-demand reports and establish standardized reporting templates.

• Ensure accuracy of data and support the initiative aimed at reducing premium leakage.

• Collaborate with AIS leaders to enhance processes, implement system changes, and propose innovative ideas.

• Define analysis requirements and operate within project plans that encompass business objectives, data scope, research methodology, resources, and timelines.

• Create, monitor, audit, and analyze recurring reports regarding CSR and Sales Agent productivity, system behavior, call handling, and AIS processes.

• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and prepare relevant reports, graphs, and charts.

• Coordinate and execute reporting while assisting AIS users and leaders in determining necessary data for reporting.

• Utilize MicroStrategy, Power BI, Winbroker II, Amazon Connect, Taske, and Mercury's Enterprise Data Warehouse.

• Support the development and administration of current and future goals within AIS departments.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Data Analyst Team Lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business Administration, Mathematics, or Statistics.

• Coursework in statistics or business analytics.

• At least 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, ideally in an analytical capacity.

• Training in SAS and SQL.

• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI.

• Strong familiarity with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, data sorting, and conditional formatting.

• Experience utilizing Power BI or comparable tools like Tableau.

• Familiar with DAX for Power BI or VisQL for Tableau.

• Knowledgeable in SQL, including inner and outer joins, lag/lead functions, case statements, and basic data modeling/design.

• Basic experience with UiPath or Power Automate.

• General understanding of the Property & Casualty Insurance sector, covering Home, Auto, and Commercial product lines.

• Familiarity with underwriting practices, procedures, and analysis of premium and loss ratios.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capable of producing high-quality work within strict timeframes and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Self-motivated individual with the ability to learn new responsibilities and technologies effectively.

• Flexibility to work a varied schedule and travel as necessary, including occasional overnight or weekend stays.

• Ability to comply with privacy policies and securely manage sensitive data.

• Required to learn SQL, SAS, and possibly R coding if not already proficient.

• Designated workspace that is free from noise and distractions.

• Remote office internet connection through ISP or Cable Modem.

• High-speed internet access is mandatory.
