Senior Software Engineer – Credit Commercial Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and implement high-performance solutions for extensive, high-volume, and fast-paced financial data alongside complex compliance environments.

• Develop software and infrastructure that facilitate repeatable, efficient, and high-quality releases through automation.

• Eliminate redundant tasks to enhance engineering focus on strategic challenges.

• Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues across various services and system layers.

• Integrate customer requirements and input from product stakeholders into technical solutions.

• Analyze data, identify patterns, and document findings for audiences without technical backgrounds.

• Lead the design efforts for medium-sized components or features.

• Participate in the design processes for larger components or features.

• Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to achieve reliable, high-quality results.

• Take ownership of well-defined features and components, delivering team objectives across quarterly milestones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of industry experience in software development.

• Proficiency in Java, service-oriented architectures, and cloud computing, with a preference for AWS.

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React or Next.js, along with knowledge of CSS/HTML.

• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.

• Understanding of common design patterns in scalable distributed systems and fundamental computer science principles.

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and managing user sessions.

• Proven ability in designing, building, and maintaining web and mobile applications.

• Capability to produce clean, readable, error-free code, complemented by thorough documentation and testing.

• Ability to comprehend existing designs and technology choices, making appropriate adjustments as needed.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, conveying information clearly, concisely, and respectfully.

• Skill in sharing relevant information, including challenging task-level trade-offs that impact the product.

• Demonstrated humility, empathy, and receptiveness to constructive feedback.

• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.

• Competence to work cross-functionally and successfully deliver projects.

• Capacity to work effectively in cross-functional teams with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

• Experience in payments or the FinTech domain is a plus.

• Familiarity with big data analytics tools such as Snowflake and stream processing architectures is advantageous.

• Contributions to technical blogs, a public GitHub repository, or open-source projects are considered beneficial.
