Senior Software Engineer – Commercial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the design and technical execution of robust order processing systems.

• Advise key stakeholders on both technical and design-related choices.

• Mentor engineering team members, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices, including the use of AI tools.

• Work alongside Product Managers to collect requirements and evaluate designs with stakeholders.

• Provide support for software from the initial ideation stage through to release, operation, and ongoing maintenance.

• Oversee the design, development, and upkeep of highly reliable backend systems.

• Assist in business applications, order processing, and integration with various services.

• Promote quality initiatives and assist QA activities in collaboration with QA engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of software development experience, concentrating on secure, scalable backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Profound experience with event-driven architecture and Apache Kafka.

• Proven experience collaborating with remote and hybrid teams, including international contractors.

• Background in mentoring engineers and fostering technical best practices.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, including software configuration, releases, and deployment tasks.

• Comprehensive understanding of Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven Development.

• In-depth knowledge of AI processes and procedures related to the software development lifecycle.

• Experience with service-oriented architecture and microservices.

• Proficient in building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and expanding software in AWS.

• Experience in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs using Java.

• Strong skills in relational database design and optimization.

• Advanced programming capabilities in Java with a focus on Spring Boot.

• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, Elasticsearch, and DynamoDB.

• Familiarity with Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Knowledge of Docker or container technology.

• Experience with CI/CD practices using GitLab.

• Familiarity with Claude/Cursor, MCPs, AI Agents, and Skills.

• Experience using testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.

• Expert-level knowledge of the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Data and Spring Security.

• Experience in monitoring and troubleshooting distributed systems.

• Proven leadership qualities and analytical skills.
