Senior Software Engineer – Commercial Navigation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of navigation projects from the design phase through to production implementation.

• Monitor quality, user adoption, and customer impact following the launch.

• Develop maintainable, thoroughly tested code while maintaining high standards in both design and code reviews.

• Utilize modern development tools, including workflows enhanced by AI.

• Enhance observability, testing processes, and reliability in production environments.

• Design and deliver features across mobile applications, backend services, and web platforms.

• Create navigation solutions for drivers, ensure administrative transparency, optimize routing, and develop safety-oriented features.

• Gather insights from fleet managers and drivers to align priorities with the product team.

• Establish success metrics, outline milestones, and identify risks and trade-offs.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and partners in the Maps, Telematics, and related teams.

• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural values.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 6 years of professional experience.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering customer-facing software in production across various platforms, including mobile, web, and/or backend services.

• Expertise in at least one product area with the capability to contribute meaningfully in other areas.

• Proficient in using AI development tools with sound judgment in daily engineering tasks.
