Senior Software Engineer, Cluster Scalability

📋 Description

• Develop essential infrastructure and tools that empower customers to expand workloads beyond a single node.

• Design and construct distributed systems that integrate query-processing and storage nodes into a cohesive database framework.

• Create features for data movement and dynamic scaling.

• Advance seamless horizontal scaling, enhance cluster elasticity, and implement smarter workload execution.

• Tackle intricate performance challenges.

• Design protocols for the movement and placement of data with minimal disruption.

• Possess a deep understanding of MongoDB architecture and its team components.

• Identify and resolve bugs.

• Contribute to projects planned for MongoDB releases.

• Conduct thorough code reviews.

• Engage in design reviews for new features.

• Lead the development of new features.

• Mentor junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building distributed systems.

• Proven experience in developing production-level C++ code for a wide user base.

• Strong design principles and a commitment to high code quality.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong skills in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.

• A passion for designing systems for large-scale distributed environments.

• Practical or academic experience with distributed systems.

• Knowledge of modern computer architecture and its internals.

• Demonstrated industry success or academic research in areas such as high-performance/low-latency networking, performance tuning, distributed systems, system observability, or system resiliency.
