This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee projects from inception to completion, addressing ambiguous stakeholder issues through design, review, production, and ownership.
• Develop and enhance Go services that facilitate the quote-to-cash process, encompassing contract and pricing configuration, billable event creation, subscription and invoice management, and claims submission.
• Broaden assertion and reconciliation frameworks across Salesforce, Zuora, and clinical data sources.
• Enhance the reconciliation and billing data utilized by health plans and employer partners.
• Create self-service tools for finance, revenue cycle management (RCM), and client operations to configure contracts, rectify data, and execute bulk modifications.
• Implement AI technologies where applicable.
• Engage in design and code reviews while mentoring fellow engineers.
• Submit a production pull request within the initial 30 days.
• Develop a test-driven design that withstands architectural scrutiny within the first 60 days.
• Take ownership of an ambiguous problem from start to finish with a product-focused approach within the first 90 days.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building and operating backend services in production, preferably using Go or another statically typed language.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, including concepts of eventual consistency, ordering, idempotency, and interaction among conflicting systems.
• Proficient in SQL and comfortable navigating both application code and the analytics layer.
• Proven experience managing a system where accuracy impacts external processes, such as billing, payments, claims, ledgers, or regulated reporting.
• History of collaborating directly with non-engineering stakeholders, translating finance or operations challenges into effective designs.
• Experience with a major cloud platform; Virta operates on GCP.
• Proven ability to leverage AI to enhance development workflows and improve the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in frontend development utilizing React and TypeScript.
• Capability to adhere to security and privacy protocols regarding HIPAA-governed patient information.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status in the United States.
