Senior Software Engineer, Capture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems that handle real-time and recorded audio/video streams.

• Create and enhance scalable, reliable, high-performance, low-latency media pipelines.

• Develop systems to capture, process, and prepare audio and video streams for subsequent analysis.

• Offer technical leadership and guidance through code reviews, architectural decisions, and mentoring.

• Contribute to the architecture of distributed systems that support high-throughput media ingestion and processing.

• Establish patterns for real-time and asynchronous media workflows.

• Evaluate complex technical challenges and suggest enhancements and optimizations.

• Implement and champion testing and quality assurance best practices.

• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.

• Utilize emerging technologies, tools, and programming languages when applicable.

• Ensure that software complies with security standards and compliance requirements while addressing vulnerabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency with real-time communication systems, such as VoIP, SIP, RTP, or WebRTC.

• Experience with audio and/or video processing pipelines, codecs, or streaming technologies.

• Background in building and managing microservices and REST/gRPC APIs.

• Familiarity with observability tools, including metrics, logging, and tracing.

• Experience in debugging distributed systems.

• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform/CDK.

• DevOps experience, particularly with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/GitHub Actions.

• Experience managing applications within Kubernetes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Capability in technical leadership, project leadership, and mentorship.
