Senior Software Engineer – Builder Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and manage the Agent Platform for deploying, executing, assessing, governing, and enhancing agents and agentic workflows.

• Create and maintain AI Infrastructure, encompassing LLM and MCP gateways with guardrails, fallback options, usage and cost management, and model rollout strategies.

• Develop and oversee agents and workflows that transition engineering tasks from issue identification to production and business activities from trigger to result.

• Take ownership of Developer Infrastructure, including Source Control and Continuous Integration, while creating developer tools to enhance builder flow.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Sales, and G&A teams to uncover opportunities for AI acceleration and improved results.

• Promote the adoption of agents and agentic tools, while taking charge of best practices and enabling resources.

• Establish measurement and feedback mechanisms for usage, reliability, and cost to inform the roadmap.

• Utilize Temporal as the primary customer and translate insights into requirements for Temporal Cloud, SDKs, and Agent Harness.

• Contribute to an open-source reference architecture.

• Engage in on-call support for internal users.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles.

• Proven experience in delivering and managing production-quality internal platforms or developer tools.

• Familiarity with modern agentic coding tools such as Codex and Claude Code.

• Proficient in Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Java.

• Experience in developing workflow automation or internal tools, including CLI tools, services, GitHub automation, or cloud automation.

• Strong discernment regarding standardization versus flexibility and reliability.

• Comfort in collaborating across functions with non-traditional developers.

• Ability to leverage data and qualitative feedback to prioritize tasks and measure impact.

• Excellent written communication and documentation abilities.

• Preferred experience in building internal agents and managing an agent platform.

• Preferred experience in developing and operating Temporal applications.
