Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Payments Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant backend payment-processing services utilizing Go

• Oversee the complete delivery of payment functionalities from technical design to deployment, monitoring, and iteration

• Create platform primitives, extension points, and self-service APIs for integrating payment methods and rails

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and senior leadership to convert product and business requirements into quarterly technical plans

• Enhance reliability, observability, and performance across payment services

• Identify and address system bottlenecks

• Contribute through code reviews, design discussions, and best practices in service-oriented architecture

• Develop infrastructure, workflows, and APIs that facilitate fiat on- and off-ramps for global customers

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering

• Practical experience in building and maintaining production services within a service-oriented or microservices architecture

• Proficiency in Go or similar backend programming languages

• Experience in designing scalable, low-latency APIs and distributed systems

• Proven track record of managing features from design through deployment and production support

• Experience with financial systems, payments infrastructure, or high-volume transactional systems that require precision and auditability

• Responsible utilization of generative AI with human oversight
