Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Partner Merchant Interface

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the team’s projects and objectives through various tasks.

• Engage collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.

• Identify and communicate potential risks and trade-offs, ensuring transparency around the work.

• Maintain a balance between speed and quality while safeguarding systems from downtime.

• Take part in activities focused on personal and professional growth.

• Create backend APIs utilized by partners and merchants for integration with Affirm, including systems that support partners like Amazon and Stripe.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior work or internship experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems.

• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.

• Understanding of distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Capability to design solutions that involve multiple software components.

• Skill in writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code.

• Ability to navigate extensive codebases and debug code written by others.

• Experience in providing constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
