Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Partner Merchant Interface

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the projects and objectives of the Partner Merchant Interfaces - Integration team.

• Develop and maintain APIs that facilitate integration for partners and merchants with Affirm.

• Engage proactively with team members and stakeholders.

• Communicate potential risks and trade-offs associated with the work.

• Ensure a balance between speed and quality while safeguarding systems against downtime.

• Take part in growth and development initiatives.

• Design, develop, and launch scalable backend systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems, either through work or internships.

• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.

• Understanding of distributed systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Capability to design solutions that involve multiple software components.

• Ability to write clear, well-tested, and maintainable code.

• Comfort with navigating a large codebase and troubleshooting others' code.

• Experience providing constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Must reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
