Senior Software Engineer – Backend, .NET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement comprehensive backend services and API functionalities utilizing C# .NET.

• Produce high-quality, thoroughly tested code while establishing integration and contract testing methodologies.

• Employ clean code practices and domain-driven design (DDD) principles.

• Collaborate with product teams and QA to refine, define, and estimate items on the roadmap.

• Proactively identify technical risks and dependencies early in the process.

• Maintain backend security standards and share the responsibility for overall system health.

• Ensure observability through effective logging, metrics collection, and alerting systems.

• Lead investigations during incidents and drive solutions to root causes.

• Recognize and assist in prioritizing technical debt, performance issues, and process inefficiencies.

• Engage in design and code review processes.

• Provide support and mentorship to peers through collaborative coding and onboarding.

• Effectively and responsibly utilize modern AI-assisted development tools like Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in designing and developing backend services in production settings.

• Demonstrated success in delivering robust and scalable systems using C# .NET.

• Profound knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis or equivalent caching solutions, including data modeling and performance optimization.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred; Azure or AWS experience is also applicable.

• Familiarity with containerized environments.

• Practical experience in designing event-driven architectures and utilizing messaging tools such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and queues.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, REST APIs, design patterns, observability practices, and fundamental backend security principles.

• Exceptional organizational abilities with a knack for prioritizing and managing multiple projects concurrently.

• Strong communication skills for articulating technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in developing agentic AI software development workflows.

• Prior experience with system migrations or scaling platforms during significant user growth.

• Must possess authorization to work in Bulgaria.
