Senior Software Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and create dependable, observable, and user-friendly backend microservices and data pipelines.

• Take full responsibility for the entire CI/CD lifecycle: develop, test, deploy, and monitor your own code.

• Manage the production environment with complete ownership.

• Aid in the transition to AWS by developing and managing services on AWS and migrating existing pipelines.

• Utilize AI agents to generate and enhance code.

• Conduct code reviews for both human-written and AI-generated code.

• Engage in architectural and trade-off discussions, identifying potential risks and alternatives.

• Lead comprehensive activities with support from the Tech Lead and Tech Manager.

• Assist in elevating the team’s technical standards.

• Take part in architecture discussions, code reviews, and pair programming sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in backend engineering within production environments, focusing on the design, development, and operation of microservices at scale.

• Strong DevOps expertise, encompassing CI/CD, containerization, observability, and contemporary industry-standard operational practices.

• Practical experience with AWS, including the development and operation of services in a production setting.

• Proficient with AI tools for software development, directing AI agents, and reviewing, correcting, and enhancing generated code.

• Senior-level capability to take complete ownership, from solution design to production deployment.

• Proactive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to inquire, challenge assumptions, and work closely with the team.

• Experience in functional programming, particularly with Clojure, is advantageous.

• Familiarity with JVM languages, especially Java, is appreciated.

• Background in event-processing and messaging systems, such as Kafka or similar technologies, and experience with high-volume data pipelines is beneficial.

• Proficiency in English is an advantage; fluency is not mandatory.

• Experience in migrating workloads between cloud providers, such as GCP to AWS, is a plus.
