Senior Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and achieve quarterly objectives for the team, guiding engineers through uncertainty to address open-ended challenges and facilitating successful delivery.

• Work collaboratively with product management, design, and analytics throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

• Engage in ideation, clearly communicate technical limitations, and collaborate on risk management and trade-off decisions.

• Identify and spearhead the resolution of project, process, technology, and business challenges.

• Ensure the operational integrity and availability of artifacts by developing and tracking metrics, escalating issues as necessary, and participating in on-call duties and maintenance efforts.

• Establish and enhance code review and design standards, championing quality and ownership through technical writing and presentations.

• Foster team development by providing feedback, guidance, and leading through example.

• Participate in the mandatory on-call rotation.

• Develop backend systems that facilitate real-time transaction processing, ledgering, and reconciliation for transparent credit card operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems.

• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in delivering front-end applications.

• Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with elegant, simple, and extensible designs.

• Capability to write high-quality, easily understandable code.

• Expertise in making substantial changes in large codebases safely.

• Familiarity with tools and practices that facilitate safe modifications in extensive codebases.

• Proven track record of taking ownership of professional development and actively seeking feedback.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with a global engineering team.

• Required participation in an on-call rotation.

• Must reside in Spain; visa sponsorship is available.
