Senior Software Engineer – Backend, AI-Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create and uphold Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Salt and Terraform to provision, manage, and support AWS infrastructure for SaaS applications.

• Construct and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems that support critical business workflows.

• Collaborate with frontend engineers and cross-functional teams to provide seamless end-to-end product experiences.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.

• Promote observability, reliability, automation, and operational excellence, including monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Engage in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and initiatives for engineering best practices.

• Support production systems through on-call participation, incident management, and ongoing service improvements.

• Mentor and assist engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience in developing enterprise-grade applications.

• Extensive expertise in Java and Spring Boot development.

• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with practical experience using Salt and Terraform.

• Proven experience in designing and constructing cloud-native backend systems utilizing RESTful APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and related container orchestration technologies.

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems, scalability, performance, reliability, and secure software design principles.

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.

• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Kiro, or similar platforms.

• Ability to critically assess, validate, and enhance AI-generated code while maintaining standards of quality, security, and maintainability.

• Enthusiasm for continuously learning and applying emerging AI-assisted development practices.

• Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.

• Experience in observability, monitoring, and production support practices.

• Capability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments.
