This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable, testable, and manageable software solutions.
• Create new features and products utilizing TypeScript and Node.js.
• Support robust financial workflow systems and regulated investment operations.
• Take ownership of services throughout the entire software lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Collaborate within a domain-focused, cross-functional team alongside engineering, product, customer-facing, and operations professionals.
• Design, implement, and manage services within your designated domain.
• Ensure accountability for product SLAs and ongoing enhancements.
• Maintain and update service documentation.
• Promote continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues regarding the Seccl system.
• Engage in structured on-call and incident management processes.
• Must be available to start quickly for a duration of 6 months.
• Strong commercial experience with Node.js, particularly in TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with Serverless technologies.
• Proficient with document databases, preferably MongoDB.
• Experience in mentoring engineers.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery in a build-and-run engineering framework.
• Background in structured on-call processes and incident management.
• Experience in regulated sectors, ideally within financial services or FinTech.
• Proficient in a strongly/statically typed programming language.
• Strong grasp of designing, developing, and managing high-quality, standards-compliant workflow APIs.
• Emphasis on testing, observability, and performance.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and debugging through tracing and observability.
• Willingness to participate in on-call duties for services.
• UK right to work is required prior to starting.
• Experience in developing financial systems with complexities related to multi-region, multi-currency, or trading is a plus.
