Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of full-stack features utilized by hundreds of thousands of learners and tutors globally.

• Collaborate directly with designers and stakeholders to conduct experiments and optimize operations.

• Identify problems alongside users and teammates, contribute innovative product ideas, and lead efforts from prototyping and experimentation through to deployment.

• Decompose ambiguous tasks into manageable steps and coordinate contributions when necessary.

• Write clean, easily understandable code and enhance coding patterns for future projects.

• Foster teammate growth through code reviews and collaborative programming sessions.

• Develop scalable and secure interactions between students and tutors.

• Engage in the interview process, which includes code assessments, product brainstorming, programming evaluations, systems design, assessing cultural fit, and conducting reference checks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.

• Proven history of leading full-stack projects from unclear problems through to launch and iterative improvements.

• Capability to foresee risks and balance the trade-offs between speed, quality, and user experience.

• Proficient in TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, and Postgres, or a strong ability to quickly learn these technologies.

• User-centered approach to product development.

• Ability to work swiftly while maintaining high code quality.

• Independent work capability and ability to address gaps as they arise.

• Availability to work within a US timezone.

• Bonus: in-depth technical knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, Postgres, AWS, and GCP.

• Bonus: experience in mobile app development.

• Bonus: background in education or ed-tech.
