Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and advancement of systems that integrate real-time data processing, AI-driven insights, and customer-facing product experiences.

• Oversee the comprehensive development of customer-centric products and platform capabilities, from design and implementation to deployment and operational excellence.

• Rapidly deliver product experiences, validate them with customers, and refine toward scalable, impactful solutions.

• Develop AI-enhanced workflows and experiences utilizing LLM and agentic technologies, evaluations, feedback mechanisms, and human-in-the-loop systems.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, ML, and platform teams across web, mobile, APIs, and downstream integrations.

• Direct complex technical initiatives, clarify uncertainties, influence architectural decisions, and enhance system quality and scalability.

• Engage in customer interviews and work in conjunction with customer success and product managers.

• Promote Samsara’s cultural principles as the organization expands globally and establishes new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building, delivering, and maintaining scalable and reliable customer-facing production systems.

• Proven experience in developing end-to-end solutions across backend services, APIs, and contemporary web applications.

• Capability to act swiftly, manage uncertainty, and make informed technical trade-offs.

• Experience or a strong interest in AI-native development, particularly with LLMs, evaluations, and agentic workflows.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with engineering and cross-functional teams.

• A growth mindset, robust product intuition, and enthusiasm for learning new technologies to create impactful customer experiences.

• Ideal: Experience in building and scaling customer-facing AI/LLM-powered products in live production settings.

• Ideal: Proficiency with Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, and AWS.

• Ideal: Knowledge of LLM evaluation, monitoring, optimization, feedback loops, observability, and cost/performance tuning.

• Ideal: Experience in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments with distributed teams.
