Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and upkeep of scalable, secure, and high-performing software systems.

• Define the software architecture and make critical product technology decisions.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and various departments to transform business requirements into technical solutions.

• Guide and mentor development teams on coding standards, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.

• Manage the resolution of critical issues and make decisions regarding bugs, refactoring, and performance enhancements.

• Supervise deliverables and maintain technical quality through code reviews, automated testing, and performance monitoring.

• Drive continuous improvement and the adoption of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies.

• Promote collaboration and ongoing learning within the team.

• Assist in recruiting technical talent and engage in team training and development initiatives.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Lead and enhance AI-assisted workflows.

• Own and refine quality gates.

• Address performance and modeling challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2–3 years in roles involving technical leadership.

• Experience in migrating or rewriting legacy systems is a plus.

• Background in hospital, healthcare, insurance, banking, or other regulated/high-stakes domains is advantageous.

• Proficient in advanced Java; experience with Java 17+ minimum and comfortable transitioning to Java 25 LTS.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot 3.x/4.x.

• Knowledge of Spring Security 6/7.

• Experience with Spring Cloud Gateway.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Vue 3 Composition API.

• Familiar with PrimeVue 4.5+.

• Knowledge of Vite 6+.

• Experience with Vitest 3+.

• Familiarity with Pinia.

• Experience in building schema-driven dynamic forms and master-detail screens.

• Knowledge of Keycloak/OIDC/JWT, including realm modeling, RS256 validation, and client/scope design.

• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes, including Kustomize overlays, health/readiness probes, structured logging, and Micrometer/Prometheus.

• Experience with JUnit 5.

• Familiarity with Testcontainers for Oracle.

• Experience with Playwright E2E.

• Experience working with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot; including designing prompts, writing custom agents/skills, and reviewing AI output extensively.

• Familiarity with Confluence/Jira-driven engineering workflows.

• Proven ability to guide and mentor engineers, make architectural decisions, and tackle complex problems under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills with non-technical audiences and stakeholders.

• Proactive approach, inspiring leadership, strong organizational skills, experience in agile environments, fast-paced delivery, and a focus on resolving root causes.
