Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, architecture, and development of applications based on Java and PL/SQL.

• Implement and enhance business logic through PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers, utilizing Pension’s proprietary tools.

• Convert functional requirements into solid, scalable technical designs and detailed specifications.

• Focus on performance optimization, scalability, and ensuring data integrity throughout the application stack.

• Conduct code reviews, diagnose complex issues, and offer technical direction.

• Execute unit testing and verify that deliverables align with quality and security standards.

• Collaborate with project teams to establish scope, timelines, and deliverables.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

• Advocate for new technologies, automation, and DevOps methodologies.

• Establish and uphold application security, data protection, and coding standards.

• Document software architecture, processes, and solutions comprehensively.

• Contribute to client implementation projects by providing technical leadership and consulting expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of progressive experience in software development, including system design and architecture.

• Advanced expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java.

• Strong grasp of relational database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Git, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and UNIX Bash scripting.

• Experience with databases, data conversion, reporting tools, API integration, and application design.

• Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and mentor junior personnel.

• Knowledge of pension plan concepts is a significant advantage.

• Prior experience in the pension or financial services sector is beneficial.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods.

• Regular use of a computer and office equipment.

• Occasional movement around the office environment.

• Frequent communication via telephone.
