Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver intuitive and effective customer experiences through customer-facing web applications.

• Collaborate with the architecture team to lead complex system design efforts.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to the development team on best practices.

• Make critical design and technical implementation decisions to guide the engineering vision.

• Work with stakeholders to define requirements and convert them into scalable, reliable, developer-friendly microservices APIs.

• Design, develop, and sustain systems that support business applications.

• Enhance processes and procedures while promoting best practices.

• Contribute to the comprehensive execution of compliance initiatives.

• Engage in technical design, develop new features, and maintain existing components.

• Handle protected health information in both paper and electronic formats.

• Complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policies and procedures compliance, and security training within the first 30 days.

• Stay updated on Natera training requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related program, or equivalent experience.

• Over 7 years of comprehensive software development experience.

• Proficient in building secure, scalable web applications utilizing Java and other web technologies.

• Skilled in object-oriented programming in Java using the Spring Framework and Hibernate.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies; AWS experience preferred.

• Front-end development experience with React, Sass, and JavaScript is advantageous.

• Knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails frameworks is a plus.

• Experience in micro-service enterprise architecture, cross-platform integration, and scalable applications in diverse environments.

• Understanding of software development lifecycle processes, including building, software configuration, change control, release, and deployment.

• Strong skills in relational database design and optimization.

• Object-oriented programming expertise.

• Proficient with the Spring Framework.

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL programming; MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred.

• Familiarity with AWS services such as SQS, S3, and SNS.

• Experience with Docker or other container-oriented technologies.

• Knowledge of REST API and event-driven microservice architecture.

• Proficient in front-end technologies including React, Sass, Gulp, Rails, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Understanding of Linux fundamentals.

• CI/CD experience.

• Quality assurance mindset.

• Proven teamwork and analytical skills.
