Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality code for intricate scenarios, ensuring robust test coverage.

• Convert product specifications into solid designs for high-quality distributed application systems.

• Oversee design and code evaluations for multiple applications.

• Guide the sprint team in delivering new or enhanced features.

• Resolve obstacles to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions from the sprint backlog.

• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to guarantee the successful delivery of the intended functionalities.

• Mentor and offer technical direction to fellow engineers.

• Cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence within the Mercury engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of software programming experience.

• At least 2 years of experience with technologies utilized at Mercury.

• Over 1 year of experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.

• Proficiency in one or more industry-standard programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, C++, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL, and caching solutions.

• Proficiency in REST and gRPC APIs.

• Skilled in message queuing, data streaming, workflow, and integration frameworks.

• Understanding of microservices architecture.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in DevSecOps practices.

• Background in designing distributed application systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Proven leadership abilities through mentoring and providing technical guidance.

• Experience in driving the technical strategy and vision for a team.

• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

• Preferred: 5 or more years of backend development experience with Java and Python.

• Preferred: 4 or more years of experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and S3.

• Preferred: 3 or more years working with database technologies like Cassandra, DynamoDB, and MongoDB.

• Preferred: 1 or more years of experience with generative AI or Machine Learning.

• Preferred: 1 or more years with front-end technologies such as React.

• Preferred: Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
