Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Develop clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented code.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Engage in architectural reviews and help define the long-term technical direction.

• Direct the design and execution of essential features and architectural enhancements.

• Create and construct scalable, high-performance services and APIs.

• Write unit tests and manage the automated testing suite.

• Evaluate code from teammates.

• Influence and advance coding standards and best practices.

• Investigate and fix bugs.

• Convert business requirements into functional features.

• Take part in the on-call rotation and provide production support.

• Balance feature development with code refactoring to ensure codebase integrity.

• Collaborate across teams to align engineering initiatives with business goals.

• Emphasize software/application development; candidates with a background in data analysis or data science are encouraged to apply if they possess strong application development experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an accounting position.

• Proven experience leading features, refactors, or small teams.

• Comfortable assessing designs, mentoring colleagues, and promoting cross-team collaboration.

• Experience in developing backend applications using Node.js with JavaScript/TypeScript, including RESTful APIs and event-driven or queue-based architectures.

• Proficient in Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL, or similar RDBMS like PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience with UI/UX development using Angular v12+ or equivalent experience with React, Vue, and similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with reactive programming patterns utilizing RxJS and NgRx.

• A strong desire to excel in software engineering and quickly adapt to new technologies.

• Proven ability to thrive in a professional team environment.

• Understanding of modern web practices for responsive, cross-browser, and device-compatible site development.

• Knowledge of contemporary frontend tools such as Nx and pnpm.

• Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS.

• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

• Experience with C, PHP, or Linux shell scripting (Bash) is an advantage.

• A public GitHub profile is a plus.
