Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead technology initiatives by setting milestones and success metrics, allocating resources, and ensuring timely delivery.

• Mentor and train team members on design methodologies and coding standards.

• Communicate schedules, priorities, and project status to the Engineering Lead.

• Manage the entire software development lifecycle from requirements analysis to design, implementation, testing, and integration.

• Collaborate with architecture, product, and support teams.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of payroll and HR functionalities.

• Ensure platform security, stability, and efficiency.

• Apply technical judgment across various cross-functional teams.

• Create tools and processes to enhance engineering productivity, including build pipelines and deployment of infrastructure and applications.

• Monitor and address platform stability, efficiency, and production alert issues.

• Ensure that technical solutions adhere to development standards and are appropriate for their intended use.

• Promote the consistent use of shared platform components and technologies.

• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Technical Architect on technical solutions, functionality, scalability, and performance.

• Facilitate automated testing environments to maintain code quality.

• Contribute to defining technical strategy, roadmaps, and migration plans.

• Support engineers in planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks within set deadlines.

• Assist in risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

• Aid in technical audits and the implementation of recommendations.

• Support M&A technical due diligence.

• Lead research and feasibility studies on emerging or successor technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development for both client-side and server-side applications.

• Practical experience with integration systems.

• Proven experience in developing build and deployment pipelines, such as ADO and GitHub Actions.

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Bicep or Terraform.

• Experience in monitoring and resolving production issues.

• Strong desire and ability to learn and adapt to evolving cloud technologies.

• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as C# .Net for desktop and cloud applications.

• Extensive knowledge of cloud systems.

• Familiarity with IaaS and SaaS cloud architecture, including Azure and Amazon Web Services.

• Ability to interpret and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions.

• Possess a logical and analytical mindset.

• Significant experience with scripting languages.

• Demonstrable experience with project work and commercial development processes, particularly Agile methodologies.

• Experience in environments where products are required to be delivered within specific timelines.

• Familiarity with code repositories like Git and SVN, bug tracking tools such as Jira and Bugzilla, and wikis like Confluence.

• Experience in supporting, modifying, and maintaining systems and code developed by other teams.

• Desirable: experience in commercial development and direct customer engagement.

• Desirable: expert knowledge in at least one programming language, such as C# .Net.

• Desirable: strategies for application or solution migration from on-premise data centers to public clouds.

• Desirable: knowledge of test-driven development, automated testing frameworks, mocking/stubbing, and XUnit.

• Desirable: experience with Behaviour Driven Development using Gherkin.

• Desirable: familiarity with RESTful and XML (SOAP) web services.

• Desirable: knowledge of JSON.

• Desirable: understanding of OAuth 2.0.

• Desirable: experience in mobile application development for Windows Phone, iOS, or Android.

• Desirable: experience with InstallShield version 12 or higher.

• Desirable: experience with Crystal Reports and/or Microsoft Reports.

• Desirable: knowledge of Power BI.

• Desirable: experience with JIRA Configuration.
