Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, development, and implementation of scalable web applications for PetPlace's Shelter platform.

• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

• Evaluate solution designs to ensure they align with enterprise architecture standards.

• Engage in Program Increment (PI) Planning.

• Work closely with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical solutions.

• Advocate for development standards, code quality, and best practices in engineering.

• Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality output.

• Participate in architectural and technical decision-making processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience at a senior level with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web application development.

• Proficient in React.

• Familiarity with at least one full-stack React framework (e.g., Next.js, Remix, React Router 7, SvelteKit, etc.).

• Knowledge of Server-Side Rendering (SSR), file-based routing, and the distinction between server and client boundaries.

• Strong development background in .NET/C#.

• Experience in building server-side applications using Node.js.

• Proficient in designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases.

• Familiarity with Drizzle ORM.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Strong grasp of Git workflows, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews.

• Ability to produce maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.

• Experience in working with and evolving existing codebases and architectures.

• Solid understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, and security best practices.

• Capability to assess technical trade-offs and deliver practical solutions.
