Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications utilizing Python, FastAPI, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Node.js.

• Construct and uphold REST or GraphQL APIs, incorporating authentication, authorization, validation, and error handling.

• Collaborate with SQL and NoSQL databases, focusing on data modeling, migrations, and query optimization.

• Leverage AI coding agents like Claude Code to enhance development speed while ensuring code quality, security, and maintainability.

• Utilize message queues such as RabbitMQ for asynchronous processing and background tasks.

• Diagnose and address bugs, production challenges, and performance constraints.

• Develop technical documentation and take part in architectural decisions.

• Create and manage unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.

• Implement automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Engage in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards.

• Assess AI-generated code through testing, code review, security, and performance evaluations.

• Utilize Git/GitHub, manage pull requests, engage in code reviews, and execute CI/CD workflows.

• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or DigitalOcean.

• Work with Docker, manage application configuration, secrets, and fundamental infrastructure concepts.

• Employ monitoring and support tools such as Grafana, Sentry, and logging/observability platforms.

• Function as part of an Agile/Scrum team, participating in planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Convert product requirements into clear, estimable technical tasks.

• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers effectively.

• Collaborate with engineers, QA, product managers, data scientists, and external partners.

• Work autonomously while being open to learning and adapting to various technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical software development experience acquired through professional roles, internships, academic projects, open source contributions, or a robust technical portfolio.

• Proficient in Python with experience in FastAPI or a comparable framework.

• Familiarity with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience in building back-end services using Python and/or Node.js.

• Expertise in designing REST or GraphQL APIs.

• Proficient in writing unit and integration tests.

• Solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and software engineering principles.

• Experience with Git/GitHub and code review processes.

• Familiarity with Claude Code or a similar AI coding assistant.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Nice to have: experience with GraphQL and libraries like Strawberry, Graphene, Ariadne, or Apollo.

• Nice to have: experience with Playwright or another end-to-end testing framework.

• Nice to have: familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or DigitalOcean.

• Nice to have: experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, or similar messaging systems.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Grafana, Sentry, logging, and observability tools.

• Nice to have: experience integrating AI/ML models into production applications.

• Nice to have: understanding of authentication, RBAC, API security, secrets management, and data protection.

• Nice to have: experience in an Agile/Scrum product environment.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience, relevant projects, or a strong technical portfolio will also be taken into account.
