Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Develop innovative solutions to address the business and technical requirements of the company.

• Design, create, and maintain high-quality software applications and testing frameworks.

• Collaborate effectively with the development team.

• Diagnose system issues and oversee performance monitoring.

• Partner with clients and cross-functional teams to formulate solutions that fulfill requirements and comply with standards.

• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive feedback to fellow engineers.

• Participate in regular team, departmental, or leadership meetings.

• Provide additional availability or flexibility for escalations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in Ruby and Rails (or comparable technologies), testing frameworks (e.g., minitest), and third-party API integrations (e.g., Twilio, Stripe, etc.).

• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as Bootstrap, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Knowledge of database technologies including Postgres.

• Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies such as Git, pull requests, and Agile practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

• Ability to convert abstract business concepts into technical deliverables.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Must be capable of working at a computer for extended periods.

• Must be able to utilize standard computer equipment for prolonged durations.

• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, including typing, reading, and reviewing code and technical documentation.

• Must communicate effectively through written correspondence, video conferencing, and in-person meetings.

• Must be available to participate in meetings and collaborative work activities during standard business hours.
