Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate Digital Key Services utilizing established industry best practices and GM's software development project methodology.

• Collaborate with the core scrum team, Systems Architect, development team leaders, business team members, and other developers.

• Design, code, implement, and deliver a new platform.

• Assess user needs and software requirements to evaluate the feasibility of designs within set timeframes.

• Consult with analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems while understanding project limitations, capabilities, performance standards, and interfaces.

• Engage with customers or departments to discuss project status, proposals, and technical challenges.

• Oversee the deployment of software systems.

• Establish performance standards for systems.

• Develop or lead software system testing, validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

• Adjust software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and enhance performance.

• Monitor application code to ensure adherence to specifications.

• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to evaluate system capabilities and requirements.

• Train users on new or updated application code.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Software Engineer, Developer, or similar position.

• At least three (3) years of experience delivering Java Business Solutions.

• Three (3) years of experience with the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Three (3) years of experience working with SQL and Oracle.

• Experience in object-oriented analysis and design.

• Proficiency in Microservices, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, and Maven.

• Familiarity with Agile development techniques such as TDD, JUnit, and Mocks.

• Experience with Hibernate and Web Services, including REST and SOAP.

• Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS.

• Experience with automated testing and adopting a TDD approach.
