Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conceptualize, create, and maintain secure, scalable Java microservices that power the myFICO.com platform from inception to production.

• Deliver LLM-powered functionalities, such as RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool-use patterns, complete with observability, evaluations, and safeguards.

• Utilize Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to enhance delivery speed while reviewing, refactoring, and discarding generated outputs when necessary.

• Lead design discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Enhance code quality, test coverage, and architectural transparency.

• Collaborate with product management, InfoSec, and platform teams to convert business needs into compliant technical solutions.

• Detect and mitigate performance and scalability issues through profiling, refactoring, and architectural upgrades.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience with core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

• In-depth expertise in deploying and managing services on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Practical experience in integrating LLM APIs, such as Anthropic, Bedrock, and OpenAI, into production-grade Java applications.

• Familiarity with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL.

• Understanding of NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Cassandra.

• Strong grounding in application security principles, including encryption, authentication, authorization, and secure API design.

• Demonstrated ability to optimize high-throughput, low-latency systems for performance and reliability.

• Proficiency in event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging patterns, including Kafka, SQS, and EventBridge.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing at unit, integration, and contract levels.

• Proven track record with high-traffic consumer-facing platforms.

• Commitment to strong coding standards and a quality-first approach.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss design trade-offs effectively.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in the relevant industry.
