This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Analyze and interpret customer, product, and business requirements into comprehensive technical designs.
• Create solutions that are in harmony with long-term service, product, and platform strategies.
• Define interfaces, service boundaries, data contracts, and integration patterns.
• Write high-quality code while influencing architectural direction.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering workflows throughout discovery, design, development, testing, documentation, refactoring, and troubleshooting.
• Validate the accuracy, security, maintainability, performance, licensing, and architectural alignment of AI-generated output.
• Decompose complex engineering tasks into manageable actions.
• Maintain test infrastructure and implement automated testing, regression validation, and quality gates.
• Optimize, refactor, simplify, and reuse code across various codebases.
• Lead code reviews and facilitate sustainable issue resolution.
• Identify and address performance, reliability, scalability, availability, and production challenges.
• Keep architectural, technical, operational, and decision documentation up-to-date.
• Design secure products and services while mitigating security vulnerabilities.
• Estimate workload across projects, taking into account resources, dependencies, sequencing, and risks.
• Identify technologies, tools, frameworks, patterns, and opportunities for automation.
• Develop strategic solutions for new technologies, engineering practices, automation, and agentic tooling.
• Mentor and guide software engineers.
• Enhance engineering lifecycle and practices.
• Foster collaboration among teams to boost overall output.
• Present technical options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations to leadership, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Streamline processes through automation, tooling, scripts, templates, AI agents, CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation.
• Over 8 years of experience in developing, implementing, and supporting commercial software across various platforms.
• Proven track record of owning and delivering projects with increasing technical complexity.
• More than 8 years of experience with .NET Core, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
• Proficient in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, coding assistants, or agentic engineering workflows.
• Ability to critically evaluate, validate, and take ownership of AI-assisted or tool-generated output.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MS SQL or Oracle, including schema design, stored procedures, query optimization, performance analysis, and tuning.
• Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Elastic, or Cosmos DB.
• Knowledge of HTTP, REST architecture, APIs, service contracts, and distributed system integration patterns.
• Competence in unit, integration, acceptance, regression, and automated testing.
• Proficient with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar version control systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, build pipelines, release automation, and deployment quality gates.
• Background in building, deploying, or supporting cloud-native applications using Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of secure development practices, code quality, maintainability, observability, and operational ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience along with a high school diploma/GED.
