Senior Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Design and enhance the fundamental architecture of conversational AI and voice-ordering systems.

• Achieve a balance between latency, reliability, and accuracy in live, in-lane drive-thru settings.

• Lead comprehensive technical initiatives that encompass POS and hardware integrations, AI-agent assessment, and observability.

• Establish backend technical direction and standards.

• Mentor and onboard new team members.

• Collaborate with product and operations to convert the needs of local business operators into effective technical solutions.

• Enhance the testing, evaluation, and monitoring processes for AI-agent quality.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to real-time audio, third-party integrations, and distributed services.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in professional software engineering.

• Proven track record of owning significant systems from start to finish.

• Extensive experience with backend systems in Python, or possess strong backend fundamentals with a willingness to delve deeply into Python.

• Experience in designing systems for reliability and accuracy in real-time or latency-sensitive environments.

• Capability to work in ambiguous situations and drive loosely defined problems toward well-architected solutions.

• Strong judgment regarding the balance between scaling and rapid execution.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical reasoning and engage others in the process.

• Bonus: experience with conversational AI/LLM-based systems, real-time audio/telephony platforms, or integrations involving third-party/legacy POS or specialized hardware.
