Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

• Design and lead the development of scalable solutions.

• Make strategic high-level technical decisions.

• Convert business needs into technical requirements and comprehensive epic plans.

• Develop scalable, secure, low-latency, and highly available web applications and APIs.

• Create, construct, debug, and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable, and readable code.

• Manage the complete software development lifecycle.

• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools while ensuring code quality and avoiding 'AI slop'.

• Adhere to industry standards for securing applications and data.

• Conduct validation and verification testing.

• Create automated integration and unit tests.

• Perform code reviews and offer constructive feedback.

• Document and uphold software functionality.

• Balance completed tasks with the pursuit of perfect or elegant solutions.

• Engage in and refine agile processes and sprint planning.

• Enhance team velocity and quality.

• Foster team growth through creative and critical thinking.

• Mentor and support the broader team.

• Develop, design, and take ownership of new products and features from inception.

• Shape the architecture and incorporate next-generation AI capabilities into the platform.

• Assist in driving the technical roadmap as the company expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SaaS development.

• Proven history of successfully designing, building, and maintaining products in production.

• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, Prisma, and object-oriented design.

• Willingness to work with similar modern frameworks.

• Established capability in AI-assisted development, including managing AI tools, optimizing prompts, maintaining code quality, and identifying and addressing 'AI slop'.

• Strong understanding of automated testing, including unit and integration testing.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub, and cloud infrastructure using AWS/containers.

• Self-motivated and communicative professional with innovative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

• Preferred: experience with Flutter/native applications.

• Preferred: familiarity with relational databases and schemas up to third normal form.

• Preferred: experience with analytical data pipelines and star schemas, particularly dbt and Snowflake.

• Preferred: knowledgeable in AWS infrastructure, especially Terraform.

• Preferred: insight into UI/UX best practices and design systems such as Material Design.

• Preferred: keen eye for visual hierarchy and consistent spacing.
