Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Participate in the design and execution of highly available, scalable, and efficient solutions using C, C++, Go, or Java.

• Create, integrate, support, and enhance data streaming services on the Akamai Platform.

• Develop highly concurrent systems while optimizing CPU, memory, and I/O usage for low-latency and high-throughput outcomes.

• Design full-stack software, encompassing front-end UI/APIs and back-end infrastructure, for smooth data delivery.

• Engage in projects that emphasize system security, scalability, and performance optimization.

• Diagnose intricate distributed network issues in collaboration with multi-tier engineering support teams.

• Offer technical advice and conduct code reviews for junior engineers.

• Improve core platform services and enhance data handling within FedRAMP Moderate and FedRAMP High environments.

• Facilitate efficient data collection, processing, telemetry, delivery, and visualization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 5 years of experience working with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.

• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following: Java/TypeScript, Go, C, and C++.

• Familiarity with at least one scripting language: Python, Perl, or Shell.

• Comprehensive understanding of multithreading, concurrency primitives, and synchronization techniques.

• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

• Citizenship is not a prerequisite.
