Senior Software Engineer, AI-Driven Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop robust workflows and services to replace existing event-driven processes, establishing service boundaries, state ownership, idempotency, and retry semantics.

• Utilize agentic coding tools to tackle complex problems by setting context, deconstructing issues, and verifying results.

• Write, review, and deploy production code in Node.js and TypeScript on a daily basis, using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code.

• Establish reference patterns, including service templates, shared libraries, and code generators.

• Strategize and implement incremental migrations with tested rollbacks, ensuring production remains operational.

• Create and maintain AI workflow tooling, encompassing MCP servers, evaluation scripts, and automated checks.

• Instrument services with metrics, alerts, dashboards, and tracing, owning production incidents from start to finish.

• Execute targeted modifications in React and Angular applications when backend tasks necessitate them.

• Collaborate with product, growth, and engineering teams, contributing to code reviews and architectural discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong backend engineering skills with practical experience in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Hands-on experience in building and managing distributed or event-driven systems, along with an understanding of their failure modes.

• Proficiency in using AI tools for driving large-scale code migrations (framework upgrades, service rewrites, language ports).

• A keen interest in agent harnesses, MCP, and A2A protocols; production deployment of agents is not mandatory.

• Experience in contributing to migrations or re-platforming on live systems.

• Ability to read unfamiliar code and data models, identifying issues within them.

• Sufficient frontend knowledge to trace issues from the UI down to the service layer.

• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to work comfortably in a remote, asynchronous environment.

• Bonus: Practical experience with a durable execution or workflow orchestration engine, in any programming language.

• Bonus: Experience building or contributing to an MCP server, agent harness, evaluation suite, or multi-agent system.

• Bonus: Familiarity with InsurTech, FinTech, or other regulated industries in a technology stack similar to ours.
