Senior Machine Learning, AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop predictive models for lead generation, demand forecasting, residual value forecasting, portfolio management, and fraud detection.

• Revamp customer service and other workflows utilizing RAG and agent-based generative AI solutions.

• Securely incorporate AI solutions into the company's systems.

• Assess the quality of generative AI outputs.

• Construct and manage ML pipelines on AWS and Snowflake.

• Oversee model performance, drift, and costs; identify when models need retraining or decommissioning.

• Convert business requirements into quantifiable use cases in collaboration with stakeholders and the data engineering team.

• Take ownership of the delivery process from start to finish.

• Review new models and frameworks.

• Set up shared standards and tools.

• Mentor junior team members as the AI team expands.

• Address responsible AI issues such as data privacy, bias, and explainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering.

• At least one solution successfully implemented and operated in production.

• Strong expertise in either predictive ML or LLM applications, with practical experience in the other area.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Familiarity with ML frameworks like scikit-learn or PyTorch.

• Solid understanding of experimental design and model evaluation.

• Experience in deploying and maintaining ML solutions on AWS, including tools such as SageMaker, MLflow, Docker, and CI/CD.

• Familiarity with Snowflake or a similar data platform.

• Hands-on experience with RAG, tool invocation, and agentic workflows.

• Experience in evaluating the quality of LLM outputs.

• Regular use of AI coding tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

• Ability to make and justify design choices.

• Capability to guide other engineers and explain trade-offs to non-technical staff.

• Fluent in English.

• Conversational proficiency in German or Dutch is a plus.

• Experience with process redesign, leasing, subscription, or other asset-based business models is advantageous.
