This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement Coinbase’s Unified Merge Gate, assessing the viability of changes for merging and clarifying outstanding requirements.

• Incorporate automated review results, policy and risk evaluations, continuous integration outcomes, identity and attestation proof, along with human insights into merge decisions.

• Develop dependable backend services and integrations across GitHub, continuous integration, and Coinbase policy frameworks.

• Transition repositories from disjointed legacy controls to the Unified Merge Gate with secure rollouts, transparent decision-making, and rollback options.

• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, Codeflow, ZTSC, and repository custodians to convert control specifications into developer workflows.

• Evaluate metrics such as human-review volume, time-to-merge, automated merge coverage, decision quality, and escaped defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the field.

• Strong background in backend and distributed systems using Go or a similar programming language.

• Proven experience in designing APIs, ensuring durable state, implementing failure recovery, achieving observability, and establishing safe rollout mechanisms.

• Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment, source control integrations, developer infrastructure, or another high-stakes control environment.

• Strong judgment in security and authorization matters.

• Demonstrated experience in leading a cross-team technical initiative from design through migration and ongoing operational management.

• Practical knowledge of AI, including the use and assessment of AI-assisted engineering workflows.
