This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop a deep understanding of traffic operations, customer requirements, real-time systems, edge devices, distributed architectures, and legacy software.
• Convert vague requirements and intricate system failures into well-defined problems, technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready software.
• Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows for exploring systems, designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and managing production operations.
• Decompose complex projects into structured tasks for engineers and AI agents.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain reliable, scalable, secure, and manageable software within distributed systems and connected infrastructures.
• Navigate through unfamiliar technology stacks, services, and programming languages as necessary.
• Evaluate AI-generated code and designs, ensuring accountability for system quality, security, and performance.
• Utilize prototypes and rapid feedback loops to minimize uncertainty.
• Balance customer value with delivery speed, reliability, security, cost, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, Cloud, Customer Support, clients, and engineers.
• Develop documentation, test suites, guardrails, and observability tools for safe and repeatable AI-assisted development.
• Share AI workflows, mentor engineers, and contribute to defining AI-first engineering practices at Miovision.
• Significant professional experience in software engineering, delivering complex and scalable production systems; 8+ years preferred, but not mandatory with equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Proven experience in developing customer-facing products and making informed engineering decisions in dynamic environments with incomplete or evolving information.
• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing cutting-edge AI models, modern AI coding tools, or AI agents to expedite development.
• Ability to structure architecture and context to enable AI tools to generate verifiable, maintainable code.
• Strong foundation in system design, debugging, testing, reliability, security, maintainability, and production operations.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, APIs, data-intensive applications, and cloud/connected device platforms.
• Capacity to quickly adapt to unfamiliar technical stacks or business domains and reason across multiple modern programming languages, including Java, Kotlin, C#, TypeScript, and Python.
• Familiarity with Git, containers, CI/CD pipelines, Linux-based systems, observability, and production troubleshooting.
• Exceptional ability to communicate technical assumptions, trade-offs, and risks to both technical and business stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.
