Senior Software Engineer – A2P Messaging, Agentic Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop software of production quality for a new high-volume messaging platform.

• Take full ownership of functionalities, from understanding problems and designing solutions to implementation, testing, deployment, and ensuring production readiness.

• Engage with APIs, application services, PostgreSQL, and asynchronous or event-driven processing.

• Transform vague or evolving requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Utilize AI coding agents for exploration, implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and documentation purposes.

• Incorporate observability, testing, and failure management into solutions.

• Collaborate with senior engineers, SREs, and architects on technical decisions and production behavior.

• Contribute to a modular architecture that facilitates parallel work among engineers and AI tools.

• Assist in ensuring the platform's readiness for production, including migration and operational support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in telecom, messaging, CPaaS, or carrier platforms.

• Understanding of A2P/SMS concepts such as SMPP, routing, DLRs, CDRs, rating, or wholesale messaging.

• At least 5 years of experience in commercial backend engineering.

• Strong expertise in backend engineering.

• Knowledge of Java/Kotlin; candidates with other programming languages are also welcome.

• Experience leveraging AI throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Capability to orchestrate and manage AI agents.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems from start to finish.

• Comfort in working with ambiguity and incomplete requirements.

• Ability to act swiftly while upholding engineering standards.

• Proficient in English.

• Experience in billing, payments, metering, or domains critical to transactions is a plus.

• Background in building high-volume data pipelines and idempotent processing is advantageous.

• Familiarity with message brokers, asynchronous workflows, or high-volume transaction processing is beneficial.

• Experience with Kubernetes-based production environments is a plus.

• Knowledge of React/TypeScript is advantageous.

• Experience in developing internal operations or back-office platforms is a plus.

• Experience in supporting production incidents, migrations, or cutovers is beneficial.
