Senior Software Developer, ERP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, development, and implementation of intricate features and technical projects within business management applications.

• Create and execute backend services, APIs, data models, and user-facing functionalities with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

• Manage complex relational data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and efficient operations within the database.

• Grasp business requirements, explore technical challenges, and deploy effective solutions across existing systems and technologies.

• Ensure feature reliability in the production environment, lead incident resolutions, enhance monitoring, and improve system performance.

• Establish code quality standards through code reviews, automated testing, and best engineering practices.

• Collaborate with Product and engineering teams to define requirements, assess technical strategies, and deliver effective solutions.

• Mentor intermediate developers, disseminate technical knowledge, and assist in hiring and onboarding processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software development experience in building and maintaining production systems relied upon by businesses.

• Strong foundation in computer science, supported by a degree in computer science or notable professional experience in software development.

• Proficient in data modeling and relational database management, ideally with experience in multi-tenant systems.

• Experience in designing and building backend services and APIs.

• Sufficient front-end experience to take ownership of a feature in the user interface.

• Proven ability to safely deploy changes to live systems, including the use of feature flags, incremental rollouts, and reversible data migrations.

• Capability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.

• A leadership mindset characterized by initiative, decision-making abilities, and consistent delivery.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with non-engineers.

• Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

• Preferred, though not required: experience with Python and Django; familiarity with Next.js or React; knowledge of ERP, accounting, or business management software; experience with Windows desktop applications using C++ or similar technologies.
