This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Revit automation tools and associated engineering applications across the firm.
• Lead the Automation focus group, ensuring a roadmap is maintained that reflects business value, technical feasibility, and user input.
• Take ownership of the Automation focus group roadmap and propose product priorities for approval by Digital Engineering leadership.
• Create software architecture and applications utilizing C#/.NET, the Revit API, WPF, and Python.
• Collect requirements and convert engineering workflows into scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly solutions.
• Construct integrations across Autodesk products, engineering systems, data sources, internal applications, and select Autodesk Platform Services APIs.
• Set development standards regarding architecture, coding, testing, documentation, source control, and release management.
• Track reliability, usage, adoption, and feedback to inform continuous improvement and set product priorities.
• Offer code reviews, technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to fellow automation developers.
• Assess emerging Autodesk technologies, software practices, and viable AI opportunities for engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and provide technical leadership without the formal responsibilities of personnel management.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Over 7 years of relevant experience in software development, BIM automation, or design technology within the AEC industry.
• Solid practical knowledge of Autodesk Revit, engineering workflows, and production development using the Revit API.
• Advanced expertise in C#/.NET.
• Proficient in Python for automation, integration, or data processing tasks.
• Familiarity with WPF or similar desktop UI technologies.
• Experience in object-oriented design and constructing maintainable software architecture.
• Knowledgeable in Git, code review, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and the support of production applications.
• Proven technical leadership and sound architectural decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Autodesk Platform Services, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Forma, or the AEC Data Model.
• Background in supporting multiple Revit versions and enterprise application packaging, updating, telemetry, or error monitoring.
• Experience in leading a product roadmap and mentoring junior or mid-level developers.
